Question: Car now jolts (lose of acceleration) after having electric work done

My car recently would not start, but would crank over. The car was towed to a mechanic how said it appeared to be an eletrical issue. He replaced a bunch on electron inginition parts (i.e. spark plugs, ignition coil, etc) the bill totaled around $650 is parrts and labor. The car started fine but was soon as I started drive above 25 miles an hour the car would jolt like it wasn't accelerating or getting fuel. I took the car back to the mechanic and he replaced the spark plugs with a wider plug that fit better and should fix the problem. However the problem still continues. Any advice on what is causing this? Any info would be much appreciated. The car is 17 years old so I'm thinking maybe the new electric parts shorted out old electrical parts. I know electrics can be a real pain. Thanks, Sal

That could be caused by lack of fuel pressure. Replace the fuel filter and have the fuel pressure checked. Also, make sure it hasn't "jumped time" by checking that the cam and crank marks (engine timing) are lined up properly.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
