Question: car shudders when accelerating about 2000-2500 rpms

Feels Like>> Vehicle is sluggish>> When I need passing power and press the accelerator to the floor>> consistently sluggish/shudders a little bit when accelerating through 2000 rpms, both around 30 mph and 60 mph (i.e. not depending on gear)

For all hard starting or engine performance issues, you should always start with the basics. Make sure the tune up items are done and check the charging and starting systems. The engine must have the basics done in order for it to be able to run correctly. Many things can cause this type of problem, and the simplest sometimes get overlooked.

Changed the plugs and wires. Car now runs like it had a heart transplant.

I bought the car used, and one problem is that Mini dealers only do something if the car tells them to or the owner's manual does. And apparently nobody said that 88,000 miles without changing spark plugs was a bad idea. Sluggishness and shudders are all GONE!
