so car is started. was a broken wire. my new problem. So been driving and drives well. But problem is sometimes wen i clutch rpm goes down below 1000 and car shuts off. leading up to this here are a few things i kept notice of. When car would start just moving off i would hear a squealing sound. i figure it was a belt. next driver side window stop working. then speedometer stopped working but rpm meter works. these all occurred days apart. One night ,was driving and going downhill. Shifted into third. while clutching rpm dropped and car shut off. started car again and realised the battery light was on. So i drove home. parked. Started it up, and the battery light didnt come on.

It sounds like you've got a low idle issue, which allows the engine to die whenever your foot is not on the gas. Try cleaning the IAC (idle air control) valve, and also clean the throttle body. Both can cause low idle, and are also good preventative maintenance.

thanks. will do. im servicing the alternator now replacing the brushes

hmm, so serviced the alternator. cleaned iac and throttle body. car still doing same thing. popped hood. got some1 to rev and realised muffler was blowing. exhaust manifold had a crack. brought it to be repair and exhaust pipe was blowing at bottom of car aswell. got welding done. figured all will be ok after. Car is still having the same problem. im lost right now. car cuts off sometimes when i clutch all the way down or wen im shiftin to a lower gear.pls help. i fear this is going to get worst

Does it die at idle when warm or cold? Does it only die when you've been running at higher rpms for a while and then take it out of gear? Does the problem exist before the engine is warmed up (first few minutes of driving)? Have you had it scanned for codes?
