Question: Car temp rises then falls

Car temperature gauge goes up to 75% (0 being cold 100 being overheating) first few minutes of driving. I usually turn the fan on Max to pull air through engine. Don't know if this has kept it from overheating. Wondering if I may have a faulty thermostat that is not opening/closing to keep temp in middle. I am overdue for coolant system flush so probably is contributing to problem. Any ideas?

The needle position could be normal for the vehicle. If it isn't. it could be a restriction to coolant flow, poor fan operation or a defective coolant temp sensor. You might need a shop to isolate/diagnose it for you.
