Question: Car turns over then dies immediately

I was on my way to help a friend move. When I exited the freeway I realized something was wrong with the car. For 2 miles the car was jerking. I came to a stop sign and the car died. It wouldn't turn on. I waited a minute and it started back up. As I approached my friends house with my car jerking i came to another stop sign and the car died again. This time it wouldn't start or even turn over. I turned my keys to start and nothing would happen, no sound either. My friend came to help me push the car and I hopped in and turned the key and the car now turned over then died. I pulled over to his drive way and the car now just turns over and dies. I just had the spark plugs changed and the battery. Can anyone help me out? Thanks. By the way the service engine light came on after the first time it died.

It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
