Question: car won't start.

2004 Solara, 6cylinder, 127k miles. The car was not started for 9 months. Battery required replacement . Installed new battery attempted to start vehicle and first it appeared it was going to start, the starter engaged went a through a start cycle then stopped. Second attempt all I heard was spinning with no starter engagement. Do I need to reset something after changing battery? What do you suggest?

Either the starter is bad or the battery does not have a full charge. You don't need to reset anything, but make sure the battery has a good charge on it (try removing it and recharging). If you still hear the spinning, replace the starter.
