Question: car wont start

Just bought it from a mechanic who said sometimes it would need a jump if it wasn't turned over at least every 10 days or so. I had it 3 days; ran ok the first day but sat for 2 because of a snow storm, and now it's dead as a doornail. The battery ticked, lights came on, gear shift in P, but no start. Radio & horn fuses (and possibly keyless entry since it doesn't work) were already taken out and new battery/alternator put in recently. What's causing this?

Sounds like you have a parasitic draw. You will need to determine which circuit is causing the draw and repair it. Have a shop (probably not the one you bought it from) do a draw test for you, they should be able to figure out where the drain is.

Thank you! Having someone look at it now, hopefully it'll resolve the issue/be worth the expense. What a great website this is, I will be sure to pass it on.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
