Question: changing the battery

I went to auto zone and bought a new battery and now my rpm is off it acts as if it is going to die what do I do

Make sure the battery cables are clean and tight. If they are take the ground off for 10 min. Connect the cable back to the battery. Then turn the key on for 1min. Turn the key off. Start the car. If it still is doing the same thing check the codes in the computer. Also I would check the throttle position sensor. One of them is going to be the problem.
