Question: Check Engine Light

As of a few days ago my Engine Light came on showing "Check"..Check What??? I checked my oil and water "all good"..I purchased this car August 6, 2012. assuming that dealership had every inspected and up to date. The car drives magnificent without any bumps noises etc. I have to drive to Benicia which is 30 miles from my residence. Now. I don't know what is in store for me concerning this Engine Light.and traveling down the roads. I do not have a spouse I'm on my own on this

Have the codes read and go from there. It's probably a minor emissions issue. After codes are recorded, clear the faults and see if they re occur. If they do you'll probably need to make a repair.

I had a Diagnoisic done this morning because of the Engine Light on. It was stated to me. "Everything" is fine and if Engine Light comes back on bring car back in.
I don't know a whole lot about Diagnostics, but the one I had this morning was only half hour. How can everything be checked in an half hour.

They should have given you a print out of the codes. The CEL cannot be on with out a code being stored.

Checking the vehicles computers for problems is pretty quick.
