Question: check engine light

was emmision code po445 I think which for this nission says emmision fault. Replaced gas cap and light went out for a week or so but came back on. I looked at most of the hoses in engine compartment and car does run ok for a 140k motor.

P0445 Evaporative Emission Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Shorted

This code indicates there is a problem with the electrical circuit of the purge valve. It's always a good idea to check over the vacuum hoses on an evap code, but in this case the code is not indicating a vacuum leak or a gas cap leak. The part to test is the purge valve and related wiring.
