Question: Choke stays open.

I just bought an 84 El Camino and the choke remains open at all times. The choke light inside the car also remains lit. I have no troubles starting it or running it. Is this a problem I need to fix fast or can it wait? What would happen if I left it alone?

not too sure about this one. This is a feedback carburetor and adjustments on them are tricky when you work on them all the time. since Most mechanics don't anymore you may have a hard time finding someone to reset the choke system.

If it runs OK and starts OK you should be fine as the choke being closed is only for cold startup.
