Question: clicking noise coming from or near gear shifter?

2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I took my jeep to have radiator replaced last week at local jeep dealership. While there I also told them there was what sounded like a slight knocking sound coming from within the dash on the passenger side. 2 days after getting the jeep back the sound started again and now there a clicking noise that comes from the center gear shifter when I step on brakes and when I release brakes. It does it primarily only when in park but i think it have have clicked once or twice while driving. Any adviee would be greatly appreciated.

The clicking noise could be the shifter interlock solenoid. It will click when you hit the brake to get it in to gear. If there is a problem it could click every time you hit the brake. It mite need a new shifter solenoid and housing.
