Question: Compensation for damage by mechanic?
Question for you... My wife has a 2007 Volvo xc70 that she has kept in great condition, with no accidents. While at the dealer for a warranty repair a mechanic backed it into a barrier, damaging the rear bumper and a tail light. They are offering to repair the damage they caused, but I'd expect more from them than just fixing the damage, because now the car has been in an accident and will never be as pristine as it was before the accident. Do you have any point of view on what a reasonable request would be, based on the reduction in value? I'm not seeking cash, but perhaps a maintenance and repair credit. I'd appreciate any insights or suggestions. Thanks!
