Question: Details relevant to my 1955 bus.

Gas line divert valve is clean, new gas line hose, new fuel pump (old one leaked). new fuel filter and carb fairly new. When she runs, she runs great. good acceleration, good smooth running But, when she stalls out afterwards she takes a bit of time to restart.

Could be vapor lock in the carb, or flooding.

After it stalls, floor the pedal and hold it there. Now try to crank the key (with foot on pedal, no pumping). If that helps, the engine was flooded and you need to look at why the mixture is so rich.

If it's not flooded, it might be vapor lock. Try opening the gas cap and trying a few more times.
