Question: Do I need to replace my gauge cluster?

My gauge cluster tachometer jumps all over going from no reading to normal then flips all the way over to the other side. Gas and temp gauges don't read correctly. Speedometer works correctly. If I tap on gauge cluster assembly gas and temp gauges will move to correct readings then drop after a while.

When tapping has an effect, that strongly points to either a bad dash unit or bad wiring connection in the unit. It pays to check the connectors to make sure nothing is loose, and there is also a Multiplex Control Unit for the dash that could cause a similar problem. Try the tapping test directly on that unit as well.
