Question: Do I really need to transmission fluid?

Hello I have a 2006 Honda Civic with 115000 miles on it. I always hear conflicting comments on the subject of transmission fluid. Some people say "never change it" and some will say "change it when it's dirty" ... dealer never mentions this to me when I bring in my car for service... I am not sure what to do. Please advise. Thank you.

Change the filter and fluid when it's dirty. Most mechanics will tell you the same thing - do the maintenance.
