Question: does the input rod got to be in the engion converter first before you put the transmission on?

My truck wont go into any gear and it wont pump any fluid..we put fluid in there max it out and cheacked wires and lines..the transmission came out of a 1994 ford exployer but it fited and hooked up exelete just not going into any gear.

Try to put it into gear that the trans. If ti goes into gear. adjust the linkage. If it does not go into gear. Check the fluid level and then the. If that is ok you mite have got a bad trans.
