Question: Door to gas tank fell off

Hello, the door to the gas tank fell off when I opened it to fill up. A couple of plastic pieces came off about 1/2" x 1/8" in size, and fell to the ground. Is this something I can fix myself with out having to take it into a mechanic? I have the door.

From the manual:

Fuel tank filler cover

Replacing the fuel tank filler cover lock




Remove:

the panel in the cargo compartment according to Side panel, cargo compartment, replacing See: Interior Moulding / Trim\Trim Panel\Service and Repair\Side Panel, Cargo Compartment, Replacing
the connector
two screws holding the bracket in the body
two screws holding the lock unit in the bracket.

Install:
In reverse order.

Replacing the fuel tank filler cover hinges
Press the pin out from the hinge.
Pull off the hinge.

Install:
In reverse order.
