Question: Doors wont lock from inside when car is off

i have a 2005 chevy equinox. when i turn my car off i can not lock my doors from inside i can only lock them by using the keypad. the unlock does work though.

If the locking mechanism will work with the fob but not the master switch, then the problem is likely the switch. Your best bet is to get a wiring diagram and test the switch before replacing it, you can find a wiring diagram in a repair manual or sometimes by searching online.
