Question: Down shifting erratically

When driving my car it sometimes shifts into overdrive but 75% of the time it will down shift and then go back into overdrive many times a minute What could be the cause? Also my car only has 53,000 miles

That could be a problem with the torque converter clutch (TCC) switch. Have it scanned for codes and test any part before replacing. The brake on-off (BOO) switch should over-ride the TCC, so if you lightly press on the brake pedal, it should stop the erratic shifting problem.
