Question: Engine won't fire

The engine will turn over but not start after driving the car to the store and letting it sit. It has a 5.0 SHO engine and a new distributor. After the engine will not start, I turn the key off and restart it again with no problems. Starts normal. This does not happen all the time. Any hints? Thanks
