Question: Engine won't start.

I replaced the starter three times...I have replaced the alternator, and the exterenal generator. There is some wires i believe that are not connecting to the starter that go to the alternator. Also my mechanic said that it had loose wires going to the ignition. but i tried fix the problem by putting a new connector on one of the wires going to the starter. I think I connected the wires to the correct places on the starter. Before I had this problem the car would start up good on the first start, then after i drove the car, and turn off the engine,and tried to start it, it would slowly start or not start at all. The wires are taped together with electric tape.

You have had your battery charged up so it is full, right? So, you turn the key... and what do you hear? Nothing, or a clicking noise? If nothing, the problem is somewhere in the switch/ignition circuit. If you hear a click, the starter is not receiving sufficient current to turn over (could be a weak battery, bad starter, or bad wiring/connections.

When you hook up a 12V test lamp to the starter, how many wires make the test light glow? The wires that get 'hot' are the big one, and at least one of the little ones.

Yes the battery is fully charged up. I do hear a clicking noise when I try to start my car. The problem is a bad wiring/connection.

OK, here is how to check the battery cables to see if there is enough current reaching the starter:
You will need a voltmeter. Connect one lead to the negative post of the battery, the other lead to the metal case of the starter. Have someone try to start the car while you watch the voltmeter. If the reading is greater than 0.2V while the starter is 'clicking', then let me know that #, it may indicate a bad negative cable/connection.
Next, connect one lead of the voltmeter to the positive terminal of the battery, the other end goes to the postive post on the starter, it is where the bigger red cable connects to the starter. When the key is being turned to 'crank', this reading should not get bigger than 0.7 volts, if it does, it indicates a problem with the positive battery cable/connections.
