What would make my Ford E 250 van float on the road.

I am replaceing the upper and lower coolant hoses Should I replace the hose clamps?
The hose clamps are the spring type and no longer serviced. I would need to either reuse the original clamps or use the new worm gear type of clamps. What do you suggest
