Question: Gear Changing

When I drive my car it revs up really high before it shifts into gear. I have to put it in a lower gear just so it will shift down then I work my way back down to balance out just to work. back up to fifth gear. Please help!

If the rpms rev up every time you take it out off gear (either by shifting out of gear or by stepping on the clutch pedal) then you likely have a problem with your idle circuit. The first thing to do is clean the IAC (idle air control) valve, it's an often overlooked maintenance procedure that can cause idle problems.
