Question: gear shift lever

yes my truck was having transmission issues of not going into over drive and reverse. it seemed like it was being blocked by something. after taking it apart i realized that there was something indeed messed up and blocking it. now i went to go put the gear shift lever back in and it will not go into any gears it seems like its in first all the time

It sounds like you have ether a bad band inside the transmission or a more simple problem of not having the proper amount of fluid inside the transmission. Check the fluid level, and check the shift linkage. If it is nether of these, you should take the vehicle to a transmission shop.
