Question: GL Jetta 02 noise before the 3,000 rpm

Nice video. I can see (or hear, rather) why someone thought the clutch was bad. My first question is whether or not they had the flywheel resurfaced. It like 'clutch chatter', which is caused by a slipping clutch and is fixed by both replacing the clutch and resurfacing the flywheel. So check that that was done by whoever did the clutch job.

Next, check the motor and tranny mounts--kind of slim chance there, but good to inspect.

Next thing is engine driveability. If you haven't had a tune-up in the last few years, you are due for one and anything that would cause a hesitation or misfire could potentially cause what you're experiencing.

Do you hear it in reverse?
