Question: Grear selector locked

While back out from parking space, the "R" indicator light was flashing and then the grear selector was locked at "R" position. It kept flashing and there was no way to turn the knob and the car won't start again as it was not in "P" postiion. Can I do something myself to unlock the selector or I need to take the car to the services? Thanks.

Sounds like the linkage is probably jammed. Is there a shift lock release? Usually you can override the switch using this feature.

Otherwise you'll probably need to take it in. Being an 09 model I would imagine it's still warrantied.
