Question: grinding/whining noise.

I have 01 dodge stratus Rt 3.0 5 speed. 180xxx mi. Ok I keep hearing this rattle/grinding noise when I push the gas pedal. I hear it when I start in low rpms. Then it goes away. Until I shift and hit the gas pedal again. I can put it into 5th gear at a slower speed and hit the gas and hear it better. It also whines when I go in higher rpms. It dosent whine at idle only when I accelerate. And I also have slow acceleration. Like I punch it and it seems like it wants to go. Like it struggles kinda. Idk if this leads to one thing or these are diff. Kinds if problems.

I would check you heat shields. That is the most common problem.
