Question: groans from under hood

on cold morning a loud groan and sometimes abackfire from under hood. 30k miles on car and has done since new

Your vehicle looks like it’s still under warranty. I would recommend taking it in and having the dealer look at it.

The noise may or may not be a normal condition to the vehicle. The dealer is your best source for these type of concerns on such a new vehicle.

have already been to dealer biut engine was hot and it doesn't do it when warm

You should leave the car overnight so they can reproduce the problem. They can only advise or make a warranty repair if they can duplicate the condition.
