Question: heads and gaskets

if I remove the heads is it a must to replace the gaskets even if they look ok? looking for tips on what to look for? have coolant in oil and oil pressure is bottoming out unless I rev the engine. I have drained oil and flushed cooling system twice, now I feel stuck on what to do next?

Sounds like you need to remove the heads and have them tested for cracks, resurfaced and replace the head gaskets and head bolts. You can not reuse gaskets and expect them to seal.

You may need an oil pump as well.

thank you tyler, I replaced the manifold gasket this past fall and reused the old bolts, oops!!! when I began to remove them this time they were practically finger tight, a little tighter but not much. I have now relived that they needed replaced. I think that I am going to try this first with new gaskets and bolts. I know it is more work but I really want to put it all back together before I spend the money when it may just b a easy fix. I have the lower manifold off and cleaned and the new gaskets and bolts ready to go, please give me your opinion???? could this loose manifold really b my problem???
