Question: hissing noise coming from back side of engine

My 2004 Ford F-150 FX4 would always stall whenever I would sit at a stop light or idle. My buddy and I crawled under the hood and found a vacuum hose that was shredded, well missing about 3-4 inches anyways looked like someone cut it on an slant! I have heard several complaints about this on these models but no one can ever tell me the part or the name of the tube that i need to replace we plugged the tube with a screw which stopped the stalling issue but the truck still has the hissing noise don't have the time or money right now to buy a book with and engine diagram either!

Sounds like you have some additional vacuum leaks. Repair the vacuum leaks and make sure the routing is correct. You may be able to find a vacuum diagram for free online.
