Question: How do i clean an intake manifold in a 4 cyl 1997 toyota camry and do i have to take it out to clean

I am trying to clear the OBD II code P0401 and so far have pulled out the EGR valve and tested it to find that it works. After using a vacuum pump to test it in the first place and when testing the EGR valve found that the car did not die but just stumbled instead. So my next step is to clean the intake manifold.

You can try to clean it on the car. But most of the time the manifold has to come off.
