Question: How do i fix my gearbox?

I was parked on a hill then when i went to move my car it was stuck in park so i yanked it back to drive but i noticed that the gears all dropped down a place. Reverse didn't work, Reverse was in NEUTRAL, NEUTRAL was in DRIVE, and DRIVE was in 3. Everything still works fine, but i just want to know how much will it cost to fix?? and what exactly happened??
