Question: how do I get the auto shifter out of park when wiring is burned?

I had a fire in ashtray and it burned center console. I cant get shifter out of park

You have to fix the wires, I looked and there is no bypass. You can put the parking brake on. Pop the hood. Find the transmission linkage. It chould be right ontop of the transmission. Pop the linkage off. Then move the shifter arm. That will take it out of park so you and get the car towed or push it.

thanks for the reply I was hoping there was a bypass, but the linkage was the only way to move it. thanks
