Question: how do i set the linkage in a 65 new yorker

it has the dial instead of a lever

The linkage for what? Accelerator? Choke? Manual or automatic tranmission...?

My manuals do not go back as far as 65, so I can't help you out. However, you can try a Chrysler forum, such as:
