Question: How much should it cost to replace eight spark plugs in a 2007 Ford F-150?
Check engine light came on. The truck was taken to the dealership's vehicle repair shop to run a diagnostic. Per the service dept rep, the computer analysis will not reveal a problem with the spark plugs but they found a problem with the sparks plugs by checking the "internals". I don't understand the extent or purpose of attaching the computer systems (the vehicles to the service machine) if it cannot determine a spark plug issue given it is electrical. In addition, they stated the rack & pinon was showing signs of deterioration by the mechanic turning the steering wheel. Doesn't add up to me. Please explain how the spark plug can be determined as a problem o/s of the diagnostic and if the rack & pinon problem s/b shown on the diagnostic report.
