Question: how much will a ignition module cost to replace?

I have a 2008 buick lacrosse and my car would not start, took it to the mechanic and he said it was my module, and coil and charged me $1500 plus a battery and oil change. is that a fair price?

Whoa! That sounds high.

If you look at your repair bill, you should see how much each item cost. You can compare the parts prices to an online parts store, the labor to replace the ignition module should be less than an hour. There is likely a diagnostic fee of about an hour as well.

You can always take the repair bill to another shop and ask them if they think you got ripped off.
