Question: how often does the fuel system have to be cleaned. Does the brake fluid ever have to be replaced?

Being told by dealer that the fuel system has to be cleaned every 25k miles and brake fluid has to be changed.

As to injection cleaning, I don't recommend them usually unless you use cheap gas all the time. Most name brand fuels have cleaning agents in them that keep the injectors clean. If you really want to do it, go spend $8 at your autoparts store and buy a bottle of techron (same stuff Chevron puts in their gas) and dump it in a full tank of gas. Run it close to empty before refueling. The injection treatments shops sell are fine and they won't hurt anything, but I'm not convinced you get a lot for your money

Brake fluid does absorb water (hydroscopic) over time, so changing it every now and then is a good idea, but in general, brake fluid service is normally not required unless you are having issues with the brake system or the fluid turns dark.

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
