Question: how to install the power window tape

When I shut the passenger side door, the window fell completely inside the door. I removed the door panel and found the regulating tape (a thin flexible metal with holes) hanging loosely on one end and the other was going thru the power window motor. When I powered the motor, the motor sounded normal but the tape did not move. I assume I need a new motor and tape. Is the tape suppose to be cut on one end? The bottom of the window has a bracket attached and this bracket slides on a vertical rail . The tape must slide into this bracket ?

Thank You

You need to buy a regulator and motor assembly. I suspect the gears are stripped out.

As to where the tape goes, I'd need to see the vehicle to figure it out.

There are probably online sources with instruction guides on the internet. Google "free online repair guides" and you should be able to find some service information.

If you need a step by step procedure, you will have to buy a service manual for the vehicle.

Also check youtube as many people have posted videos of simple repairs

Car Brakes: How Do You Know When to Change Them?

By Zach Bowman For those who suffer a daily commute through heavy traffic, your vehicle's braking system can bring thousands of pounds of metal, plastic and empty Starbucks cups to a stop hundreds of times before you get to work. It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
