Question: How to install transmission housing cover?

I removed a side tranmission housing cover looking for an internal spin-on filter. There was a big gear behind this cover instead. I tried to bolt the cover back down. I managed to get it on Reverse works well, drive is very sluggish. Help!! Im scared to drive it. What did I do wrong?

You could have not torque the cover on right. You need to take it to a transmission shop.
