Question: i have a 2001 bmw x5 with a new battery

every time i leave the car off for more then 6 hours the battery dies and i need a jump eventhough the battery is brand new what is the problem?

It sounds like you've got some 'parasitic draw', which is caused when something is shorted out and drawing current even when the key is off. Here's an article that tells you how to test for it:
