Question: i have a 58 reg vw passat 1.9 tdi when i brake there is a metal banging sound under car

The noise sounds like its under drivers seat. I've had it to a garage and they say they can't find any thing I asked them if they took the plastic cover off from under car to have a look but was told there's not much under it and it would not be worth it as it would take a few days to do ( thats what happens when you buy a car from car craft just get fobed off all the time) they also said they had checked the breaks and suspension and found nothing. Any help would be much appreciated Thanks Mark.

It’s really hard to diagnose this type of problem long distance. You'll need to have a mechanic listen to it to actually isolate what the noise is.

I would recommend trying a different shop and taking a test drive with the mechanic so they know exactly what they are trying to fix.

It goes without saying that these pieces wear out, but they do so slowly, meaning you may not notice they need attention until ...
