Question: I have a question about the durability of an '07 Camry with a nearly new engine?
I'm in the market to buy a new/used car. This is the first car I will buy that my parents did not buy for me. There is an 07 Camry for sale at the right price for me, the car itself has 198,000 miles on it, but the auto shop put in a new engine with only 60,000 miles on it--so it has a nearly new engine. It runs smoothly, I've seen the "order/paperwork" for the engine, so I know they aren't jerking me around there. Can I get up to at least 300,000 to 400,000 miles out of this one? My Ford has nearly 300,000 miles right now and I've had it for about 10 years, and it was a good car, but I know Toyota's/Honda's are better cars. I know that no one can "guarantee" how long a car will actually last, I'm just looking for a mechanic's point of view on this one, outside of the dealership. Thank you!
