Question: I have a standard car. And we think the clutch is done in it. But I still need to push down the clut

I have a standard car. And we think the clutch is done in it. But I still need to push down the clutch petal to move the gear shift yet the car won't move? What exactly could be wrong with it?

Either the slave cylinder for the clutch has failed or the disc itself is having an issue. I'd suspect the slave cylinder is more likely the cause.
