Question: I have been quoted the price of $850 to replace the intake manifold. Does this sound reasonable or

The engine is a V6 4.0. It was steaming from the engine area. The thermostat was not leaking.
This shop said the part was $192.00. That mean $600 in labor.

According to my manual the part lists for $251.67 and the labor to replace the manifold is 3 hours.

Gasket is $6

The cooling system will have to be rechecked and filled, and the vehicle test driven... So you can add sometime there.

Overall the estimate is reasonable but maybe a little high.
