I need to know if it's an automatic or manual trans before I can help you with your problem. Thanks.

Your IAC is very probable. It's a good place to start.

As a side note, shifting into neutral at 50 miles an hour is not a normal driving pattern for most people. I doubt the engineers were considering this when the programming was done for your vehicle. It is possible that driving this way, you discovered an irregularity in your vehicle and you will not be able to fix it no matter what part you change.

I would not recommend shifting an automatic in this manner, as you may accidently shift into reverse and scatter the transmission. Or just shifting into neutral, may cause the engine to over rev and cause severe engine damage.
