Question: I noticed that my intake cam was off by two teeth damage the engine

I changed the timing belt/water pump and the intake cam sprocket was up two teeth on the cam gear and didn't line up with the EX side. will that damage my engine?

This is an interference engine, so having the timing off can certainly damage the valve train.

A few teeth off probably isn't enough to hurt anything permanently. Correct the mechanical timing and see if it turns over by hand normally. If it does, try running it.

If it misfires or doesn't run, check compression.
