Question: IAC problems on my 3.4 firebird

Ive been having idle promblems like up and down and every now and again it will idle fine but rare and doesnt stay that way for long. i pushed the spring/ plunger all the way in and my car stayed at 2.5k rpms does this mean that i need to get a new IAC thingy lol, i also pulled it back out and stuck it in the car seemd to keep the car idleing good reved it up a couple times and it stayed idleing good once again walked away came back and was having the up and down on the rpms again

Try cleaning the carbon out of the IAC, here's a video with some pointers:
