Question: Idling roughly

My 07 Mazda 3 has started idling a bit roughly to where the engine seems like it's going at too low RPM, not low enough to stall out, but enough to start shaking a bit. What can be causing this? And how should I go about fixing it? (no check-engine light on)

For all hard starting or engine performance issues, you should always start with the basics. Make sure the tune up items are done and check the charging and starting systems. The engine must have the basics done in order for it to be able to run correctly. Many things can cause this type of problem, and the simplest sometimes get overlooked.

Also look in the throttle body. It may be full of carbon and plugging up the idle control circuit.

did a fuel flush at the mechanic, might need to take a look at that throttle body
