Question: If the car is turned over with a broken timing belt/chain will it damage the valves?

The car has been turned over a lot and I'm wondering if the valves or anything else could have been damaged if the timing belt broke.

There are three different engines available. One has a belt, the other a chain etc.

Replace the components and reset timing. Then check compressor to check for valve train damage.
